I also figured out I can skip some h-UK and h-DTK trash packs, so that has made farming those instances a little more tolerable.

Looking at the heals you can see my goto heal is Rejuvenation. This is mainly because I’m using the Idol of Awakening. The 2 piece T7 is 5% off Lifebloom cost, but IMO with the SP Coefficient nerf you’re much better spamming Rejuvenation and saving LB for a tank (where the bloom has a chance of not being 100% overheal). My next two that I cast most often is Regrowth and Lifebloom.I will most often Regrowth a non-tank to get them healed and let a hot tick on them so if they continue to take damage, I have a hot on them, and I can swiftmend on top of it. The Glyph of Swiftmend lets me Swiftmend without having to recast another hot. So I can Swiftmend whenever I want and not worry that I’ve wasted a hot. Lifebloom is my next goto spell. I rotate between the Idol of Awakening and Idol of Lush Moss. If you aren’t running Idol of Awakening, you should be running Idol of Lush Moss IMO. I wouldn’t let your idol dominate what you’re primary heal is, but it is definitely something to be aware of. Lifebloom is a great spell, but I feel the bloom is mostly wasted because it is dependent on the person NOT being at full health when it blooms. I tend to roll LB stacks with Rejuv and it tends to be able to provide great single target healing and if the person gets hit a few times and the hots fall behind, I can swiftmend easily and keep the 3x LB rolling.

So we’ve established my 3 main keys I bind to my entire keyboard when I /faceroll. Now lets look at spells I don’t use that often, mainly Healing Touch. That entire fight I used it ONCE. I am of the mindset that if you’re using HT more than 5 times in a single fight, you’re doing something wrong (or you’re dreamstate and being the hippy non-conformist of druid healing). You can see I used 1 Healing touch and it only hit for 8k. Not a big deal but look at the Ovh% (over heal), its not there. That entire 8k went into someone and not 1 hp was overheal. This is because I use Nature’s Swiftness + Healing Touch as my “Oh shit” Button. (yes, the macro is actually called “oh shit”). When I panic this is the first thing I hit, when NS is down the macro just casts Healing Touch. Once NS is down I’m usually throwing a quick rejuv and spamming nourish (See the 79% Ovh on 3 nourishs, ouch). Tranquility is another one I don’t use that much. Who really can on a 5 minute CD? I use it for oh shit group heals. Finally we come to Wild Growth. I used to spam the shit out of WG and not care. Now with a 6 second CD I still throw it around without much regard but its hardly my go to “hot someone up fast” spell anymore, I’d rather LB or Rejuv someone.

So now that I’ve explained my logic, lets look and see where I went wrong. (Wrong is relative, I don’t know that I was actually wrong we did down the boss, but there were things I could have done better.) 79% Ovh on 3 nourishs is pretty harsh, first I should be using it more, and using it wisely as it is a quick and powerful heal. As stated above, it’s one of my panic spells and like many Druids I’m simply not used to having it and haven’t quite figured out it’s place in my rotation. Next is regrowth, 9 casts with a 4195 average isn’t bad, but it could have been used better. My 41% Regrowth Ovh tells me that I’m using it instead of a rejuv or LB (on a target that is near full / full on the initial cast). It’s really hard to find something wrong when the boss died, but hopefully these couple of things will show you the logic and reasoning of seeing what you did, and why you did it, and understanding that will allow you to make smarter decisions when /facerolling.

Now for the same fight, lets look at “Who heals whom?”

The only reason i want to mention this is to show where my heals go. You can see I heal myself a lot, (10% lols). I had a good teacher force me to lrn2hotmyself, it took me a while but I caught on eventually. You can see I didn’t heal Kallyn, this is because Kallyn didn’t pay the healer toll so no heals 4 Kallyn, let this be a lesson to everyone. You can see I healed everyone else in the raid. This is where Uriah may yell at me, but I don’t stick to my assignments. I hot everyone because I have decent regen and can afford it. You’re mileage may vary and you may or may not get yelled at or looked at in a bad way from others due to your Ovh or your own assignments dying. My personal view on assignments is that as long as you’re assignments are alive and you have the mana / regen to handle it, go nuts healing. If you’re assignments die because you’re oom, then you strayed too far out of your assignments. Now if they get insta-gibbed cause of some freak accident, heal away not much you could have done about that. Scroll down and this is where I’m really going to get myself in trouble and you can actually see how far I was straying from my assignments (I’m usually assigned melee, I think because I’m one of the few that doesn’t have melee on my no-heal list). Who is healed by whom? is where you can see exactly who got my heals. Scroll down and look at all rogues, all warriors. These percentages I healed them are lower than anyone else, I healed people who weren’t my assignment more than people who were, Oops. There are reasons for this as anyone could imagine, healer overwhelmed, range issues, etc.

Now that we’ve seen (and hopefully learned something / gained some insight) WWS, here are some general thoughts. A lot of this are my personal opinions / observations. WWS is great, topping meters is great, but healing meters don’t mean anything unless something went wrong. Healing meters should be used to judge Overheal (and how to improve / lower), make sure people aren’t straying too far out of healing assignments, and to identify who’s sucking healer mana away from who should be getting heals. Overheal is a widely discussed topic on many healer forums. My personal opinion is you’re overheal is going to be truly governed by your class, spec, spells, and attention span. The less I pay attention, my oveheal % goes up. Mainly because I’m trying to spam heals to make sure no ones dying as I wait for Matlock to solve the case, pull the cat off the ceiling fan, or anything else that I may be doing. It’s a good thing I don’t watch TV during raids, or more people would die. :_X Class and spec are going to be the next big contributors to Overheal. I think some classes are going to be high on overheal by design. My point on overheal is, as long as you’re not oom, overheal shouldn’t be an issue unless people are dying. Then you want to look at spell casts to see where you can improve. (whether you need improvement on timing or recognition on healing priority)

I realize this is a giant wall of text, but hopefully this will show you my logic for figuring out how I did on a fight / raid and how I can find where I can / need to improve. We don’t live and die by WWS, after all, as long as the boss is dead we win right? Feel free to laugh at me or yell at me for not staying within my healing assignments.

I hate this place. The first boss took 3 tries but I got him. I pretty much moved in and out of range to catch heals when I needed them and that seemed to work well. Died a couple times to trash, I had no real recovery method if my tank or healer got possessed. I ended up making a macro on the tank that tried to target one of the possessors so I could find them quickly and shut them down.

Cleared The Underbog! Only had 1 death due to not paying attention. I ended up aggroing The Black Stalker before I was ready so the preist didn’t make it. I’m still swapping around spells. I’m not very good with a Shadow Priest. I also realized when I dinged on the 3 lowbies, and went to train, I hadn’t trained Mind Flay at all. Oh well, should see a nice boost next instance. Planning on doing some questing in Zangarmarsh. The lowbies are just over their current levels so I want to get another level maybe before I head into Mana Tombs.

Cleared The Slave Pens with no deaths! ClickBoxer makes healing a non issue. I’m still not using a secondary targeting mechanism for heals. I’m just using a /tar party1. I need to make a macro so I can single target heal a party member.

Download and install InnerSpace. Once you have IS configured for WoW you’re ready to proceed here.
(setup and configuration of IS is covered extensively in the above links)

I wrote a script which I named remote.iss and put in my InnerSpace\Scripts\ Folder.

Replace 192.168.1.120 and 192.168.1.139 with the IPs (or host names) of your machines. Feel free to change “Scroll Lock” to whatever key you would like to bind repeater to. This script with connect to the remote uplinks you have specified and then run repeater, and launch the WoWskin themed UI for repeater. Which is courtesy of zanthor (Thanks for letting me link it here)

If you have more than 2 remote clients, simply copy the “Uplink RemoteUplink -connect 192.168.1.139″ for as many clients as you have and specify their IPs. The personal, non-commercial user license supports up to 5 PCs.

Once you have the above script customized for your machines save it to your InnerSpace\Scripts\ Folder on your MAIN machine. On your client machines. Right click on the IS system tray icon and select “Configuration”. In the middle of the window you should see “Uplink Networking” Check the box that says “Enable incoming connections on port”. This will allow your main machine to connect to your clients. Remember to adjust any firewalls you may have running to allow for the default port 10101.

Launch WOW on all of your machines via the IS game profile. (right click on the IS system tray icon, select “World of Warcraft”, select “World of Warcraft Default Profile”. Open the console by pressing the ` key on your main system. In the console type (no quotes) “run remote”. This will connect you to your remote uplinks and will start and open the repeater UI. You can check the repeater documentation for how to specify white list and blacklist settings. The basic

commands above will get you running. You can run the command “Uplink RemoteUplink -list” in the IS console to show what RemoteUplinks you are currently connected to. If all went well (Nothing broke) you should be broadcasting all keys to all clients. Congrats, it wasn’t too hard was it?

Now to take it 1 step further.

I’ve taken the ClickBoxer.xml from Layout 1 on the ClickBoxer Wiki.

Straight from the wiki: “ClickBoxer is a customizable user interface for multi-boxing with Inner Space.Sample layouts are given below. Make sure to customize the buttons by changing the command that will execute, as the key combinations used in the layout may differ from the keys you want to use. In fact, you may wish to change the text on the buttons, or add more buttons, or make them smaller, or a variety of other things. Make it do what you want it to do, and look how you want it to look! ”

I’ve modified the the ClickBoxer.xml to work with my setup. I use 1 as my follow macro, 2 as my assist macro, 9 as my attack 1, 8 as my attack 2, and t as my melee key. Also joeslaptop is the hostname of my laptop, and second, is the hostname of my 3rd client. The is1 is the uplink name. By default the first instance of wow you run should be named is1. This is the name of the session. so when you tell ClickBoxer to send a command, you have to specify the HOST.SESSION. This is why you see joeslaptop.is1 or second.is1. YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THESE HOSTNAMES TO MATCH YOUR HOSTNAMES OR THIS WILL NOT WORK. If you do not know the hostnames, run “uplink remoteuplink -list” and this will show you all the hosts you have connected to and their hostnames.

Copy this and save it as Clickboxer.xml in your InnerSpace\Interface folder.

You may want to change the keys to whatever you prefer to use.

Run ClickBoxer by running the following command in the IS Console:
ui -load -skin WoWSkin ClickBoxer

If you’ve specified you’re host names and uplink names, and key binds correctly, everything should be working fine for you. Click on the buttons to test drive ClickBoxer.

I hope this helps someone get started with InnerSpace. And I hope this sheds some light on what InnerSpace + ClickBoxer + Repeater can do as a Multiboxing solution. It is my conclusion that InnerSpace used in this manner is no more in violation of the ToS/EULA than the Nostromo N52 software capable of pressing 1 button to get more than 1 action. This post is not to incite a war of legality. I want to show that there is no ToS / EULA violation here. I’m completely open to INTELLIGENT discussion with SANE and RATIONAL people with WELL THOUGHT OUT replies. Moderation of this thread will be fierce.
